Finding your voice: What makes your work unique.
Whether you are new to encaustic, or more experienced, we will consider where you are coming from, and even more importantly, where you want to go with your work...what you want to achieve.
The use of color, glazing and color as an emotional force, including "small pours" on panels, consideration of the use of multiple layers of transparent color, adding color as accents, and achieving a statement with color.

This workshop in my quiet light filled encaustic studio, is the perfect opportunity to take a day or two for yourself, to focus on your work, and take it to the next level.
The workshop will cover all aspects of Encaustic Painting
This workshop is all about you. What you want to say, and what you want to do.
We will discuss the preparation of the panels, taking your drawings or sketches to the panel, and telling your story. In addition, a variety of new techniques will be introduced. We will discuss the creative process, and how to do what you really want to do. We will talk about creating depth in your paintings with multiple glaze layers, including small pours on panels, how to make a variety of new and exciting marks between layers as well as using marks as drawing.
For more experienced encaustic painters, this will be an opportunity to enhance your work with a variety of new techniques. Individual instruction and criticism will help you move your encaustic painting to a new level.
You will leave with a printout containing all the information you need.
All materials are included, including a wide variety of paints and tools.
Each student will receive information about where to stay and what to do during their time in Las Vegas! So come and enjoy some tome out in this beautiful historic town..Stay in a beautiful historic hotel, or just in an ordinary motel. But most importantly remember that this is your time, to learn and do what satisfies you.
And yes, Las Vegas is just an easy one day drive from Santa Fe, if that works for you!
